2024 Raceday Wrap Up!

HOW’D IT GO?

Hey all! It’s been one whole week since Carnival and we are still feeling it. “It” being the energy and excitement, but also the lack of sleep and aches and pains LOL. Overall, it was another wonderful RaceDay weekend.

On Thursday, we had Design Showcase. We got to see the great paint jobs on display (which earned us People’s Choice!). There was so much energy at Hype Session. We had good food, good vibes, a super awesome hype video, and motivational words from students and alums.

Unfortunately, it rained on Friday but that didn’t stop us. The alums still got together for our annual alums and family dinner. Saturday brought the heat, cause we only had one shot to to race. We had 3 women’s teams, 2 all gender teams, and 4 men’s teams. It was a clean day in the chute for us (props to the drivers, flaggers and mechanics!!), and 100% effort and heart given by the team. We had alums come in from all of the place, and folks watching virtually at our watch party! We had our all team post-race day event after the awards ceremony (where we procured some hardware!! 5th place in womens), with over 100 alums and team members. The chairs reflected on the year, gave encouragement for the next year, announced the new chairs, and we honored the seniors. And of course, we ended the night with the Rainbow.
