2025 Carnival Day 3: SATURDAY

Happy Saturday fam!

This morning, we engaged in the proud rainy day tradition of waking up, checking the raceday schedule, and going right back to sleep!

The Men’s and Women’s races are postponed until next weekend (4/12 and 4/13 ) prior to 9 AM.  (By the way, the BAA is calling for volunteers to help make this “Bonus Raceday 2025” happen. Sign up if you’re in town!)

The CMBAA meeting went wonderfully - SRS shared their updates for the year alongside SPIRIT, National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE), National Organization of Minority Architecture Students (NOMAS), and the Black Graduate Students Organization (BGSO). The endowment is also positioned to have raised 1 million dollars by 2026, in an increasingly important effort to support black students on this campus. 

At the awards ceremony, SRS won the People’s Choice Award, T-shirt award, and the new Children’s Choice Award! (Also we’re excited to give a special shoutout to SPIRIT Booth who won 2nd place!)

The SRS BBQ in the Tepper Welcome Center was a success, with students and alums chatting throughout the evening. The chairs gave a presentation to their team, highlighting the achievements throughout the year and getting hype to race next week. 

Also rainbow happened (in fact, is still happening as we post this) and we were excited to welcome the new alumni! And absolutely nothing embarrassing happened to a single human the entire time.
